Brezza Barolo Cannubi

This organically farmed 100% Nebbiolo is from the legendary Cannubi vineyard which has documented production dating back to 1752, over 200 years before the establishment of the Barolo appellation itself! Harvested by hand over multiple passes to ensure the right degree of maturity, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed prior to fermentation in stainless steel with native yeast and an extended maceration to extract tannin, color and complexity. Then the wine is racked into concrete tank where malo takes place before aging in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels with no toast and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Total production is just 9,000 hand numbered bottles (750 cases). Medium-bodied with intense aromatics and flavors of wild red and black berries, leathery, earthy notes and a firm tannic finish, this serious ageworthy red pairs beautifully with herb crusted pork tenderloin or basil pesto ricotta ravioli!

This wine is produced by Brezza Barolo in the Piedmont region of Italy. Piedmont is known for its unique climate and soil, which contribute to the distinct quality of Brezza Barolo's wines.
