The 2019 Chateau le Puy Emilien represents the best of Chateau le's winemaking. This exceptional wine is crafted in the heart of Côtes de Francs, Bordeaux, France, benefitng from the local terroir. Featuring Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot grapes, this selection highlights the unique qualities of its composition.
"An essential cuvee from the Château le Puy estate, operated by the Amoreau family since 1610, Emilien is a delicate and refined Merlot blend. A fruity nose with ripe redcurrant and damp leaves lead way into a round, full palate that finishes with fine, velvety tannins. Composed of 85% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Carmenère, the grapes age together for 2 years in used French oak barrels. A sophisticated wine that can be drunk now, or aged to discover the full depth of its terroir, we’d enjoy this with a roast prime rib or seared maitake mushrooms over herbed mashed potatoes."
