Underappreciated outside of its indigenous Piedmont, this Ruché from the Castagnole Monferrato District of Asti boasts aromas of violet and tart cherry. On the lighter side of medium body, the palate delights with cherry, tart plum, raspberry and vibrant acidity while gentle, sparse tannins provide a dry and slightly textured finish. This red could even take a slight chill. Drink with hand cut rigatoni topped with wild black trumpet mushrooms and white wine sauce.
