
Egri Bikaver, literally Bull’s Blood of Eger, contains no blood from bulls or any other animal, though theoretically, given its coagulant properties, blood can used as a fining agent to clarify wine. TITI is vegan and delicious. It’s a juicy, medium+ bodied blend of 40% Kékfrankos, 20% Syrah and 10% each of Cab Franc, Cab and Pinot that’s spontaneously fermented with native yeast, aged for 12 months in 500L Hungarian oak foudres, of which 20% are new and 80% are used. Minimal sulfites are added at bottling only. Ripe red berry and plum flavors are interspersed with subtle sage, anise and dried oregeno notes followed by a firm, dry, mineral laden and tannic finish. Pairs perfectly with Paprika prominent Goulash or a thick veggie bean stew with a slice of dense black bread on the side.
