Experience the 2023 Kuentz-Bas Alsace Blanc by Kuentz-Bas Alsace. This exceptional white is crafted in the heart of Alsace, France, benefitng from the local terroir. The inclusion of Sylvaner, Muscat provides depth and structure to this fine white. Pairing: A versatile choice for a variety of culinary pairings.
"Nestled in the town of Husseren-les-Châteaux at one of the highest elevations in Alsace, this legendary winery dates back to 1795 and became Kuentz-Bas through marriage in 1895. In 2004, they sold to another, equally prominent Alsatian family when Jean-Baptiste Adam, 14th generation winemaker, took over the reins and quickly reverted to natural, organic and biodynamic approaches in the vineyards. Their Blanc is a blend of Sylvaner, Auxerrois and Muscat from vines ranging in age from 25-45 years. A slow, gentle, pressing of whole clusters takes place over about 4-6 hours and extracts ripe and pure stone- and orchard fruit flavors from the grapes. Medium-bodied and dry with balanced acidity, this versatile crowd pleaser was fermented and aged in massive oak foudres. Pairs wonderfully with classic Alsatian dishes like choucroute or any good sausage, vegan or otherwise, with Dijn mustard and sauerkraut!"
