Matias Riccitelli was born in the village of Cafayete in Northern Argentina, traveled the world making wine, then returned home to work alongside his father, Jorge, a revered, local winemaker - thus the ‘Apple Doesn’t Fall Far from the Tree’. This is a classic example of Torrontes, Argentina’s signature white grape, from 40 year old organically farmed, un-grafted vines that are planted at about 1000 meters above sea level, harvested manually and fermented and aged in concrete eggs at cool temperatures. Medium-bodied and crisp, the nose presents white flowers and stonefruit followed by grapefruit, guava and kiwi with subtle minerality on the palate. Pairs wonderfully with mild, soft cheese or a seafood boil but also fruity enough to stand up to spicy Sichuan cuisine.
