Driven by a deep reverence for tradition and terroir, Géza Lenkey Jr. carries on the legacy of Lenkey Pincészet, which his father started in 1999. Following his father's passing in 2001, Géza Jr. fully committed himself to the family vineyards in Mád, one of the most historically significant villages in Hungary's Tokaj wine region where the volcanic soil produces many unique wines. This unique skin-contact blend, meaning "Early Joys," features a mix of unofficial Tokaji varieties including Muscat Otthonel, Zengő, Zenit, Cserszegi Fűszeres, and Zalagyöngye. Spontaneously fermented, the wine is aged on lees in stainless steel for 8 months, with no added sulfur and certified organic. On the nose, expect fragrant notes of orange blossom, apricot, and subtle hints of black tea. The palate is textured and bright, with a delicate spice of black pepper, offering an earthy finish. This versatile wine is excellent with Hungarian dishes like Hortobágyi palacsinta (savory crepes) or paprikás csirke (chicken paprikash).
