Located on the north shore of Lake Neusiedl where he tends to 40 hectares of vines, Claus Preisinger is totally dedicated to his craft, employing biodynamic and non-interventionist practices, ambient yeast, and little to no sulfur. Taking its name from the tiny vines on the small Ried Rosenberg, his crown jewel, amphitheater-shaped vineyard, that resemble bonsai trees. Preisinger’s intention was to craft a light, elegant Blaufränkisch with great complexity, drawing inspiration from legendary Poulsards of Jura. Vinified in amphora and aged for six months in large, neutral barrels, this vibrant fresh red is light bodied and low in tannin with crisp acidity. Fruit forward on the palate with blackcurrant, tart cherry, and cranberry flavors, it finishes dry with an earthy, peppery tone. Pairs perfectly with juicy and spicy barbecued sausages or a spinach salad with pumpkin seed oil dressing!
